Shai was named after his late great great grandfather, Solomon Rosenfeld. He has two middle names, one of which is his mother's maiden name, Kirshner. The name Shai has several significances. The first being the connection between generations to his great great grandfather. The second being a hebrew name, meaning "gift". And the third being the name of an Egyptian God, the God of Fate and Destiny. Shai was born during our first year as Foreign Service Officers posted in Cairo, Egypt. We liked the connection between his Jewish heritage and where he will spend the first year of his life.
